Methodology

Select a region to load its countries. Each country line shows the number of reviews written about bands from that country in each year, or the weighted average rating for that year.

Year axis — the year a review was written, not the album release year. Reviews for albums released in, say, 1990 are spread across all subsequent years as the community continues to cover that era.

Countries sorted by total review volume. The number shown next to each country name is its total review count across all years.

Split releases: reviews for splits involving bands from multiple countries are counted once per country.

End-of-data drop-off: 2025–2026 data is incomplete as reviews for recent releases accumulate over time.
